Since 2001, Pure Trek Adventures has been become a leader in the Adventure Tourism industry by creating Pure Trek Canyoning - Costa Rica, a rainforest “slot” canyon where we take tourists daily to experience something only few people ever get to see. Today we’re not only providing Canyoning, we’re also planning trips and trekking through rivers, caves, canyons and rainforests all over Costa Rica. |

Pure Trek Adventures offers adventure travelers some of the most exciting tours available in Costa Rica. Our knowledge of Costa Rica is supreme, based on the collective experience of our staff. Our staff is truly international, the company’s owner’s, Scott and Cynthia are Californians and all of Pure Trek’s guides and employees are natives of their respective Central American homelands, mostly Costa Rica. When you trek through Costa Rica with our guides, we offer more than just an adventure, you leave with a greater understanding of Costa Rica and its place in the world.
Our fully staffed office in Costa Rica is manned from 7am to 10pm daily so if we’re not accompanying you with one of our local guides, we’re always just a phone call away. Having traveled Costa Rica extensively, we have experienced many exciting things we want to share with others. We can tell you what to bring and what to expect as well as help with any specific needs you may have while trekking through these magical places.

Pure Trek Adventures
Scott has been working professionally in the travel industry for most of his adult life. Several years ago after taking a group to Costa Rica, Scott fell in love with the country and has been involved in tourism there ever since. Since starting Pure Trek Adventures his focus has been traveling around Costa Rica to discover the natural and hidden wonders of this magical country in order to share the best of Costa Rica with others.
Scott was part of the design team and worked closely with our builders in the Canyon outside of La Fortuna, Costa Rica in order to create a safe and exciting Canyoning Tour developed with idea of “no experience necessary” so that almost all tourists coming to Costa Rica can enjoy this amazing experience.
Scott is an avid rock climber, caver and outdoor sports enthusiast and is trained in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. |

Cynthia Crummer Co/owner
Pure Trek Adventures
Cynthia has been involved in the adventure industry both in the U.S. and Costa Rica for the past 10 years.
She has built 2 Canopy Tours in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, which is located in the central pacific area of the country and by working with the ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technologies) was instrumental in bringing the world-wide standards in the construction of zip lines to Costa Rica.
Cynthia did the 1 st decent into the canyon and along with a design team with the goal of moving tourists with no experience through this remote and beautiful canyon.
Cynthia is an avid rock climber, yoga enthusiast and trained in Wilderness First Aid as well as CPR. |

Our Guides. |
We pride ourselves on the fact that several of our guides have been with Pure Trek since the first decent into the canyon. We train all our guides in-house along with the guidelines from the ACA (American Canyoneering Association) and Jose Manuel Pizarro. Some of the courses we have provided to the guides are vertical rescue, client etiquette, anchor setting and rope/gear maintenance. |
Mario, Eli, Milton, Titi, Alex, Roy, Jairo and Geovanni are here to ensure our clients have an exciting and informative trip in the Canyon. They are bi-lingual and enjoy teaching others about Costa Rica as well as learning about the rest of the world from the diversity of customers who go Canyoning with Pure Trek. |
